2020 Season

A COVID-shortened campaign — 5 weeks of baseball. The goal was simple: just get everyone playing again.

Season Review

How the season unfolded

Overview

The BBF reorganised the 2020 season to run for approximately 5 weeks from August through early September following lockdown restrictions. All games were scheduled as doubleheaders to maximise playing time. The club fielded two teams — Mavericks (AA) and Millers (Single-A) — due to uncertainty about player availability.

The primary objective was simply "just to get everyone playing again" after extended disruption. By that measure, the season was a complete success.

Standout fact: 10 different ex-Junior programme players appeared for the Millers throughout the season, with a further 5 former juniors playing for the Mavericks. A testament to the club's pipeline.

Guildford Millers

Record: 5–5 — splitting every doubleheader perfectly (one win, one loss in each DH). Squad size of nearly 30 players.

Pitching leaders: Jack B (5 wins, led team), Myles B, Mike P.

Offensive contributors: Frank M, Christian S, Stephen B, Dan R, Lee B (standout rookie).

2020 debuts: Jess V, Lee B, Paddy J, Peter S.

Guildford Mavericks

Mavericks' detailed season data is not in the club's archive.
