The Mavericks had a strong 2025 regular season, finishing as runners-up behind Kent Bucs in the division standings. Notably, they were the only team in the league to split their series with the Bucs — a sign of the calibre the squad had developed.
The playoff run started with a comfortable first-round win over Sheffield. The semi-final at Hemel against Cardiff Merlins was a tighter affair — Guildford built a lead after a strong opening inning but couldn't hold on as Cardiff came back to win, ending the season one step from the final.
Pitching depth was impacted throughout the season by university exam schedules and student commitments. Jack Burdett and Ben Stobart carried the bulk of innings early in the year, with Oliver Wong and Kimi Hope returning to bolster the rotation later in the campaign.
The Millers continued their development in Division 5 following the landmark 2024 season. The season review was still in progress at time of writing.
Following the historic 2024 playoff run — the first time the Millers had reached the postseason — the squad entered 2025 with genuine ambitions to build on that achievement.
